Organic cotton is even better: because no chemicals are used in its processing, its fibers are actually stronger, and will retain more durability over time. Organic cotton farmers use no pesticides, which keeps both workers and plants healthier. Farming organic cotton emits 46% less carbon dioxide than regular cotton, and requires 91% less water.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Maker\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOur partner is a small, family-run operation devoted to maintaining the integrity of the yarn they use. Color palettes are drawn from vintage Southern California scenes-candy pinks and blues harken back to the fifties stucco, a combination of muted-fluorescent orange with sandy tan feels both bright and sun-faded. The prompt was, let's create fun, playful rugs for kids that grown-ups might steal for themselves. Like all wools, it has a hydrophobic layer which repels dust and dirt, as well as lanolin, which provides its trademark luster and protects the fiber from breaking or shedding. Depending on how heavily your rug is used, just once or twice a month is adequate. Too much vacuuming can wear down the knots and fibers more quickly.
