A surprisingly soft neutral wool rug
- 100% felted wool
- Flatweave (about 10mm thick)

- The shedding quantity and duration varies by foot traffic and rug construction
- Due to its handmade nature a 5% variance in size, color and texture is to be expected.
Care
- Vacuuming is not recommended for felted yarns as it may pull at the fibers. Instead, use a broom to sweep off debris, or bring your rug outside with a buddy to give it a good shake.
- Store your rug by rolling it up and wrapping in cloth for protection; don't fold or put in an airtight plastic bag for an extended period of time.
- Avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight.
- Don't pull loose fiber ends; trim with scissors to remove.
- This rug will do best in well-ventilated rooms.
- Due to the hand-crafted nature of our rugs, you can expect to see light shedding, matting, and signs of fiber and thread breakage over time. For high traffic areas, these effects may occur more quickly and easily.
- Spot cleaning instructions:
- Lightly dampen a paper towel or cloth with clean water
- Gently blot the affected area with your damp towel or cloth to dilute the stain
- If the stain persists, try using an unscented, citrus-free, clear soap to avoid bleaching the textile.
- Repeat this process until the stain is removed
- From time to time you may spot tiny flecks of dried hay or grass woven within the fibers-traces of the grazing pastures where the sheep once roamed. These can be removed by hand or with tweezers.
- Because this rug is made from natural wool rich in lanolin, it may release a subtle sheep-like scent when damp. It's simply the fiber's natural character, and it will disappear once dry.

The Design
Cocoon is a modest collection of cozy mid century modern flatweaves. Our take on a thick chunky weave, the quality of Macro is what makes the difference. It's beautiful to touch, and woven with a mélange of wools for dimension and depth amidst its simplicity.
The Material
Felted wool provides a satisfying footfall and pleasing weight, and a tight weave that's more resistant to fraying and moisture. The fiber's natural lanolin makes it soft and shiny, also protecting it from shedding and dirt-and it decomposes quickly without risk of microfibers. In this piece, a felted wool weft is woven onto a felted wool foundation for heft and body.

Our partner is a small, family-run operation devoted to maintaining the integrity of the yarn they use. Wherever possible they prioritize the use of organic materials, and are committed to a high level of quality and craftsmanship.
The Designer
Our in-house, all-star design team collaborates across three different countries. Based in Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Mumbai, they put a lot of thought into each and every collection they design. Starting with the weave itself, they determine material and technique, then create moodboards to capture the look and feel before starting to design. When designs are finalized, they conduct an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and color before it goes to production.
