Soft and textural washable rug

Care
- Clean on low power with a non-rotary vacuum or suction attachment (no spinning brush) only
- Lightly vacuum the rug once a week
- Use a high-quality rug pad to absorb shock and reduce damage
- When it's time for a deeper clean, machine wash your rug with like colors on delicate with 1 TBSP of gentle detergent. Line dry afterwards.
- For sizes up to 5' x 8' we recommend a 4.5cu ft home washing machine, for 6' x 9' we recommend a 4.7cu ft home washing machine, and for 8' x 10' we recommend a 5.4cu ft commercial washing machine. Please call your local laundromat ahead of time to determine if the right washer size is available.
- For sizes 9' x 12' and above, spot or dry clean.
- Be sure to wash rugs according to their recommended washing machine size capacity. Please note: failure to adhere to size recommendations could result in damage to your machine.
- If your rug is heavily soiled, or if it's tough to find a laundromat, dry cleaning is recommended
- A slight shrinkage of up to 2% can be expected for all washable rugs
- Foot traffic and movement can skew the fiber direction of your rug. For a more uniform look, brush your rug with your hand or a stiff plastic bristle brush to smooth and reorient the pile.
- Light shedding, matting, and signs of fiber or thread breakage may occur over time, depending on the material and weave. In high-traffic areas, these effects may appear more quickly.

- Spot cleaning instructions:
- Lightly dampen a paper towel or cloth with clean water
- Gently blot the affected area with your damp towel or cloth to dilute the stain
- If the stain persists, try using an unscented, citrus-free, clear soap to avoid bleaching the textile.
- Repeat this process until the stain is removed
Details
The Design
Luz is a washable rug inspired by traditional Moroccan flatweaves. Our designers played with the scale and repetition of diamond motifs for movement. A tonal palette is inspired by George Rouy's paintings, known for their creamy neutrals accented with touches of pink and brown, adding warmth and softness. Woven from soft polyester chenille contrasted by recessed motifs, Luz's innovative washable construction gives it a rich visual and tactile texture that feels handwoven.
The Material
French for caterpillar, chenille is a velvety material created by twisting short pieces of yarn, called piles, between two longer yarns. Ours is made with durable polyester for easy vacuuming, spot-cleaning, and machine washing. Soft yet sturdy, it's both mildew and stain-resistant.
The Maker
Our partner is an established weaving house with over 40 years of experience. They're OEKO-TEX® and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified, meaning they meet strict standards for textile safety, as well as environmental and social practices.
The Designer
Our in-house, all-star design team works across Los Angeles, Istanbul, Bhadohi, and Mumbai. Starting with the weave itself, they determine the collection material, technique, and mood. When designs are finalized, they conduct an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and hue before it goes to production.
